American Werewolf

The most popular American Werewolf is from the movie American Werewolf in London. This movie was released in 1981 and was written and directed by John Landis; the movie starred David Naughton, Jenny Agutter and Griffin Dunne. American Werewolf In Paris was the sequel to which was released some 16 years later. The DVD Blu Ray version of the popular werewolf movie was released in 2009.

American werewolf is also a reference to a werewolf that has its origins in the United States. Often times you will hear of an “American Werewolf” as opposed to a “Mexican werewolf” or even a “European Werewolf.” The term is used merely as a way to further define the origins of a werewolf. A werewolf from the United States often times has different characteristics than that of werewolves from other regions of the world.
